So my drive to Tucson AZ was about 1100 miles each way. I started out going south on Highway 101. When I made it to San Francisco I had to first cross the Golden Gate Bridge.

Little did I know that there were HIPPIES waiting for me on the other side. That's right HIPPIES!
You see, the GGB is a toll bridge. They charge the asinine price of $6 to cross it. When I got the the toll booth I realized I only had $3 cash. As I'm sure this happens all the time I figured they would be prepared for this. They would be able to accept credit cards or checks even if you had to pull off to the side to do it.
WELL, as San Francisco is a hippie city that is far too advanced. They guy told me I had no options. They could only take cash. I couldn't even turn around and goto an ATM. He said they would just mail me a $31 fine in the mail. HIPPIES!
I took 580 west to I5 and took that south the Los Angeles. In L.A. I took I10 west in to Arizona. I spent the night in Gila Bend. In the morning I took I8 the rest of the way to Tucson.
Most of the highways in Arizona are straight and flat with little traffic. On my way to Tucson I had the road to myself. Out of boredom I rolled my car up to 130. I only had to give it around 1/2 throttle. It was amazing how quiet and calm the car was.

I shot some cactus flowers too:

When I made to to Tucson it was really great to see my family. Everyone was really happy to see each other but sad about the reason way we were all there. On Saturday we had the memorial. It was amazing literally hundreds of people were there. They were spilling out of the hall into the lobby. It really said a lot about the impact she had on so many other people. It was really sad but there was something positive about it at the same time. I'm not sure what it was.
Della was one of those people who was always late. My older sister was one of the people who spoke and she pointed out that Della dyeing young was the only time she ever arrived ahead of schedule. That made everyone laugh. Here is my cousin Shannon speaking. That is my uncle Andy behind her:

Here are a few more photos of my family from the weekend:
